Christmas Pudding 10K

Wondering what to do after battling for places at the Chiltern League Cross Country on a Saturday afternoon? Perhaps rest, or maybe take in a slow long Sunday run as recovery and extra training? A third option is to head off to Wiltshire to pick up a Christmas Pudding! Yes that is exactly what Joby and Jill did on Sunday morning. The only trouble was that to get the free Christmas Pudding there was the small matter of racing 10K first.
Sunday morning greeted 324 runners with thick fog and frost and the race organisers with a frozen course. Two hours of gritting later and a delay to the start of only 15 minutes and the marshalls got the race going. The course takes in two laps of the Wiltshire village of Bromham, which is ideal for spectators and the flat course makes it popular with the local runners. Joby Hobbs finished in 14th place overall in a time of 37 minutes and 37 seconds setting a new P.B. while Jill Richardson came home in 101st place in a time of 45 minutes 40 seconds.
Anyone wanting to set a new 10km P.B. at an excellently organised race and pick up a Christmas Pudding just in time for Christmas this race is highly recommended.
